About Us

Armitage Auctions was established in 1972 by Henry Armitage, a well known and established Chattels Auctioneer in Northern Tasmania

We have now been operating under the same management for the last 30 years. Our senior auctioneers and valuers Terry Bell, Neil O'Brien and Andrew Snooks make up a highly qualified team who are able to offer clients our vast expertise with a combined 90 years experience in the auction industry.

OUR SERVICES

We conduct fortnightly auctions each Wednesday throughout the year selling Antique furniture, art, a large array of collectables, modern furniture, vehicles, general household contents and much more. These auctions usually comprise of over 1000 lots. We are also experienced in and occasionally hold onsite, automobile memorabilia, specialty, closing down and liquidation auctions.

Viewing for our fortnightly auctions are Saturday 9am -12noon and Monday/Tuesday 8:30am -5pm before the auction and from 8:15am Wednesday (auction day). If you cannot attend our sale we are happy to answer any enquiries through viewing the images on our Gallery.

You may leave an absentee bid at our office, online or by phone. You may also bid live on the phone (subject to approval), please contact the office.

Our Auction Rooms:

Open Monday-Friday 8:30am-5pm & Saturdays 9am-12 noon (except some long weekends).

We offer plenty of free car parking and there are many access points for speedy collection of your purchases. We also have a kiosk operating on auction day providing a selection of hot and cold food and beverages.

Armitage Auctions have recently held 2 specialized Petrol Memorabilia (or Garagenalia) auctions selling over $250,000 worth of goods.

Armitage Auctions valuers are always happy to look at any item and value it for you. Whether you have antiques, old or modern furniture, art, china, books, old toys, coins or notes, stamps, jewellery, garage items, electrical, commercial and industrial items, vehicles, boats, trailers etc ... we are happy to appraise your item/s and sell at auction, always striving to achieve the best price for you! If you are unable to bring item/s into our rooms we can arrange a time to visit you or you can alternatively send us a photograph via email.

We can assist you with arranging cartage of your items, packing, sorting and removing items to our auction rooms at Invermay.

With our many years of experience in estate service, we can provide a convenient, cost effective and hassle free way of assisting you to clear house lots. Whether you are moving, downsizing, or an executer of an Estate, we are able to offer professional help.
