Armitage Auctions was established in 1972.
The founder, Mr. Henry Armitage, had already been a familiar figure in Northern Tasmania as a well known, professional, and established chattels auctioneer.

Armitage Auctions has been operating under the same management for the past 25 years, during which time it has earned the reputation, and respect of being one of Tasmania's leading auction houses.

Our senior Auctioneers and Valuers Terry Bell, Neil O'Brien and Andrew Snooks make up a highly qualified team who are able to offer clients the most professional auction service, due to having had 75 combined years experience in the auction industry.

Armitage Auctions conduct fornightly Antique & General Auctions together with Special Antique Auctions and Estate Auctions, as the need arises.

Armitage Auctions sells famous "Tasmanian Tiger Skin"  
Armitage Auctions were most privilaged to be asked to auction the now famous "Tasmanian Tiger Skin" or "Thylacine Rug" on behalf of the Foster Family of "Pleasant Banks", which raised $275,000 in 2002.
